"ذاكرة البركان" عمل فني، يجسد حب الفنان للعاصمة أبوظبي، عبر استحضار الذاكرة الحية والحميمية التي كانت "نافورة البركان" تمثلها ذات الزمن. وهو استعاد لنافورة ماتزال تتدفق في قلوب عشاقها والتي كانت تشبه حديث الماء التي امتزجت ندواته مع أحاديث الناس آنذاك. شيدت النافورة في أوائل الثمانينات على كورنيش أبوظبي، وقد كانت معلماً سياحياً متميزاً يسر الناظرين بل وكانت جزءاً مهما من طفولة العديد من المواطنين والمقيمين، حيث كانت نقطة التقاء العائلات والأصدقاء. وقد تحولت إلى رماد في عام ٢٠٠٤، بعد أن تمت إزالتها ضمن خطة توسيع كورنيش أبوظبي، والتي لا تزال ثائرةً بين الأفواه حتى يومنا هذا. يشّبه الفنان شدة ولعه بالعاصمة بالبركان، متخذاً منها شعاراً للحب، كما يرغب من خلال هذه الطبعة المحدودة أن يربط المقتني بذاكرة خاصة مع تلك النافورة العظيمة.
'Reminiscing Al Burkan' is a work created out of the artist's passion for Abu Dhabi city and pays homage to the now-demolished Volcano Fountain. Built in the early 80's, the fountain was located on the Abu Dhabi Corniche and was a well-known tourist attraction. More than that, it was an important meeting place for families and friends, igniting many friendships and conversations and becoming the backdrop of their much-loved photographs. The Volcano lived out its life in blazing glory and then turned to ashes in 2004 as part of the expansion project of the Corniche, but the fire still rages on. The artist uses the monument as a symbol of the love he feels for Abu Dhabi and wants the owner of this limited edition print to connect to it by narrating their own personal memory of the fountain.
