المستقبل المشرق ينطلق من رؤية عميقة وأساس قوي. غير أن طموحنا قد ينسينا أحياناً انطلاقتنا العظيمة. هذا العمل الفني يرصد صرحين مهمين في نظر الفنان. حيث يدفعنا إلى تأمّل بداية قصة نجاح أجمل مدن العالم، دبيبعشقها للمنافسة وتطلعها إلى المنصب الأول، تميزت هذه الإمارة بالبنيان الشاهق ذي التصاميم المعاصرة. لكن، من المهم جداً تذكر إنجازاتها الأولية والتي تمثل الرقم واحد. برج راشد (١٩٧٩)، زهرة الصحراء التي تلتها سلسلة الأبراج على امتداد شارع الشيخ زايد، والتي تخطف أعين الناظر إليها. هذا الصرح العمراني له مكانة خاصة لدى الفنان، ليس فقط لجماله المعماري بل لأن هناك بقعة من دولته المفضلة في الطابق الـ٢٨ وهي "اليابان". يتوج الفنان برج راشد بصرح عظيم آخر وهو دوار الساعة (١٩٦٥) الكائن في حي ديرة، وهو نجمة في ذاكرة كل من ترعرع في أحضان الإمارات، حيث كان هذا المعلم وجهة يتوجب المرور بها خلال الذهاب إلى المهرجان السنوي "مفاجآت صيف دبي" في شارع المرقبات. إن دمج هاتين الأيقونتين الكلاسيكيتين هما دلالة على المستقبل الذي سابقت دبي في الوصول إليه.

This artwork symbolises two pivotal places in the artist's life; he takes the viewer back in time to appreciate the growth and beauty of one of the most glamorous cities worldwide, Dubai. Dubai is known for its daring feats of architecture and design, but it's important to remember how it started. The desert rose of its time, Sheikh Rashid Tower (1979), was the cornerstone of the glittering Sheikh Zayed Road we know today. This monumental structure has a special place in the artist's heart because of its unique beauty and his recurring journey to the 28th floor, a portal to his favourite country, Japan. The artist crowns Sheikh Rashid Tower with the Deira Clocktower (1965), another Dubai landmark and the star of many childhood memories, reminiscent of family trips to the Dubai Summer Surprises Festival in Al Muraqabat. The artist merged these two historical pieces of architecture to create the future that is Dubai.
