أم القيوين، أرض حاضنة للتاريخ، تضم العديد من الاكتشافات والمواقع الأثرية التي تعود إلى ما قبل سبعة آلاف سنة. من أهم معالمها التي ما زالت قائمة ”سور أم القيوين التاريخي“ الذي بني عام 1820 في عهد الشيخ عبدالله بن راشد المعلا. كان السور ممر اليابسة الوحيد في الإمارة ويضم الجدار الحامي ثلاثة أبراج مخروطية الشكل ”الليوارة، ومعصوم، ومنصور“ والتي كانت تستعمل كمرامٍ للبنادق في حالة أي اعتداء يقع على المدينة. ويبلغ مجمل امتداده 288.5 أمتار، بارتفاع 2.95 متر.لا يمكن ذكر إمارة القيوين دون الحديث عن جمال شواطئها ومحميات أشجار القرم فيها، واللذان يشكّلان وجهة فريدة لمحبي الطبيعة والنشاطات الخارجية. وثمة أيضاً الطائرة الغامضة من الحقبة السوفييتية، التي استقطبت العديدين ومن بينهم الفنان لالتقاط صور تذكارية وإبداعية، إلى أن تم تفكيكها في بداية سنة 2023. إلى جانب ذلك، تتميز هذه الإمارة بثروتها السمكية، فصيد السمك وتجارة اللؤلؤ مهنة يمارسها السكان المحليون منذ القدم. فلا يمكن المرور بهذه الإمارة دون الوقوف عند مطعم ”وادي النيل“ للمأكولات البحرية (1986) والذي يعد وجهة رئيسية للمواطنين والسياح على حدّ سواء.
"Umm Al Quwain, a land nurturing history, houses numerous discoveries and archaeological sites dating back to over seven thousand years. One of its most important landmarks is the 'Historic Umm Al Quwain Wall,' built in 1820 during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Mu'alla. The wall served as the only land passage in the emirate and features three conical-shaped defensive towers, namely 'Liwaara,' 'Ma'soom,' and 'Mansoor,' which were used as watchtowers for rifles in case of any attack on the city. The total length of the wall is 288.5 meters, with a height of 2.95 meters.Umm Al Quwain cannot be mentioned without discussing the beauty of its beaches and the mangrove sanctuary, both of which are destinations for nature enthusiasts and outdoor activities. Not to mention, the mysterious Russian cargo plane, which attracted many visitors, including the artist, to capture memorable and creative photos, until it was dismantled in 2023.Furthermore, this emirate is distinguished by its maritime wealth, as fishing and pearl trading have been practiced by the local population since ancient times. One cannot travel through this emirate without stopping at the 'Wadi Al Nile' seafood restaurant (1986), a prominent destination for both locals and tourists."
